05-20-2013 - Proposed changes to CPSC regulations on Compliance Certificates

 

On May 13, 2013 the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking for changes in 16 CFR Part 1110.  The amendments proposed are in regards to existing regulations for certificates of compliance, clarifying requirements on testing and labeling relating to product certification, component part testing, definition of new terms, required reporting elements and that importers file the required certificate electronically with Customs and Border Protection at the time of filing the entry. 

Comments in regards to the proposed rulemaking are due by July 29, 2013.
